Description

“I'd offer to give you a massage, but...I might break you.”

This picture was drawn for thenintendogirlsclub's Fire Emblem art project.  This group discovered me through my Animal Crossing artwork, so after sending me an invite to join, I decided to go in and check it out.  Within mere days, the group then set up a project to get all 300+ female characters from all games in this iconic SRPG series illustrated.  If you want to give it a go, feel free, but they only have less than 90 slots as of writing!
1000 Members! + FE Collab (89 SLOTS LEFT)Yesterday was the day that we finally reached 1,000 members. Thanks so, so much for the love and support, and hopefully, you will keep it up.
So to celebrate that, and the release of Fire Emblem Heroes (https://fire-emblem-heroes.com/en/ ), which is to have every character in the whole franchise, we are doing a collab, with all (or most) female FE characters, ranging from Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light to Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE, plus Heroes, in one image. Sounds pretty fun, doesn't it?
For the participants, here are the rules (Subject to change):
You do not need to be a member of this club in order to join the collab. It is open for everyone.
Each character can only be chosen once.
Your comments will be featured when picking a heroine.Do your best in your drawings, whether digital or traditional.
NO BACKGROUND, since I will put everyone on one picture. Transparency is recommended.
Once you are finished with one character, that is when you can choos

I was lucky I got in early, because a lot of characters from the only two games I played in the series got snapped up really quickly!  I decided to tackle Effie from Fire Emblem Fates, because I remember her being a huge essential part of my run through the Conquest path thanks to her sheer strength and useful base class through a lot of the early story progression.  If you're doing a Classic run on any difficulty above normal, you gotta use her at as many opportunities as you can - she starts out as a tank, though she also has a huge natural strength boost in her character.  Eventually if you level her up to 15 as a General and then re-class her to Great Knight, you have an unstoppable force to be reckoned with!  Even her character was awesome - a wonderful hard worker that focused entirely on her retainer duties for Elise, while still having a comedic ridiculous appetite.

So when I decided to draw her, I felt it would be best to put her in a pose that is very fitting for her character.  Knights and Generals are not really all that fast, but they do take a lot of punishment, which is exactly what I wanted to be able to bring up here - being ready to parry the next incoming enemy attack while still being on standby to counter.  Her armor was really cool to layer on; obviously it was a lot easier to reference the in-game models and artwork rather than that in Fire Emblem Heroes due to sheer detail alone, though I did like the touch in said mobile game for the Nohr crest on the shield, so that seemed like a charming deviation from the original design to fit into the drawing.  It was also very tricky to shade every individual piece of armor and figuring out exactly what darker areas should be where, but after seeing my own body shadows in the mirror I felt I got more of an idea where they would go, and once the initial cel shading was in, everything else finally came to place.

So here we go!  I might be able to do another, but considering there were 200 slots taken in a month, this is probably going to get swallowed up really fast. xD  But hey, I sense another Nintendo project on the horizon that involves certain little monsters living in the land of Johto, and I'm ready to start contributing to that soon too... wink wink.  Either way, this is going to be a great March!

Fire Emblem is a strategy RPG series created by the guys at Nintendo.  I drew the pic!
